Jim LaRue
Jim LaRue has been an active participant in Florida local government since 1974. During that period of time, Jim served as the County Administrator and as the Assistant County Administrator for Lee County. In addition, Jim has served in various management and administrative capacities for municipalities in Florida. Since 1989, Jim has specialized as a consultant in the field of Florida management focusing on organizational development and planning issues for all sizes of jurisdictions. During this time period, Jim has provided assistance to over fifty local governments in Florida and has demonstrated a style that is both knowledgeable and sensitive to the management needs of those working in Florida agencies, cities, and counties. Currently, Jim is a Certified Public Management Instructor with the Florida Center for Public Management dealing in management development for public management employees in the State of Florida. Also, Jim is one of the Circuit Riders for the Small County Technical Assistance program sponsored by the Florida Association of Counties Foundation. Jim's educational background includes an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa, an M.A. in Political Science from Memphis State University, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas.
