Michael McDanield
1935-2002
Tallahassee Hospice will accept donations in his name. Mike McDanield was interested in the different behavior styles of people and the difference it makes in their personal and work lives. In his management development programs he helped public managers become more aware of their personal patterns of thinking and how these affect their management behavior and effectiveness. As Senior Management Consultant for the Florida Center for Public Management, Mike was responsible for the initial design and development of the Florida Certified Public Manager (CPM) program. In addition to the CPM program he delivered management development programs in many other areas including performance management, problem solving and decision making, policy analysis, and effective writing. He was also an Affiliate Professor in the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University, where he taught graduate courses in Ethics and Administration, the Profession of Public Administration, Policy Development and Administration, and Decision Strategies. His graduate degree was in the History of Ideas from The Johns Hopkins University.
