Howard M. Rasmussen
Mr. Rasmussen previously served as Manager of Training Services in the Performance & Professional Development Section and as the Director of the Division of Collections & Enforcement in the Florida Department of Revenue. During his career in public service he has served in a variety of public organizations in a number of capacities including: Deputy Police Administrator -Miami Florida Police Department; Director -Division of Alcoholic Beverages And Tobacco, Department of Business Regulation; Executive Director - Metro Dade (Miami) Police Department; Assistant Chief Of Police, Kalamazoo, Michigan Police Department; and President and Executive Director of the Miami Crime Commission. Mr. Rasmussen has been an Associate Professor at Florida International University and taught courses in Management, Planning and Budgeting, Human Resource Management, Organizational Diagnosis, Planning Organizational Change, and Leadership. He was a Professor and Director of the Southeast Florida Institute of Criminal Justice, Miami Dade Community College. He has also held faculty positions at Sinclair Community College and The University Of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Rasmussen has taught Supervision, Executive Development, Management, and Leadership Courses at several community colleges and universities. He has taught the Leadership Challenge course for a number of organizations including: The Florida Department Of Revenue, Florida Department Of Law Enforcement, Asheville, North Carolina Police Department, and the Florida Police Chiefs Association. He has a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Michigan State University.
