Rip Colvin
Alton L. “Rip” Colvin, Jr. began his tenure as the Justice Administrative Commission’s Executive Director on July 19, 2010. In his current position, he heads up a state agency with 93 staff, providing administrative services to 49 judicial-related offices. JAC also provides compliance and financial review of billings for services provided by private court-appointed attorneys representing indigent citizens and associated due-process vendors.
He is active in the government finance community, as a Past President of the FGFOA, President of the FGFOA’s Big Bend Chapter, as well as a member of FSU School of Accountancy’s Professional Advisory Board, and FSU’s Certified Public Management Advisory Board.
Rip is a proud graduate of Florida State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance in April 1992. He is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Finance Officer and holds Certified Public Manager and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt credentials.
